Plants vs Zombies

A new strategy game from PopCap, Plant vs Zombie places you in the middle of an onslaught of zombies, with only your plants as your defense. Its like Tower defense actually for those who are familiar with TD on Warcraft III custom map.

The game consists of using plants, whether it is a Sunflower or a Dandelion to a devastating Doom Shroom, to kill of the mob of zombies trying to get to your house. You are given a 6 by 9 playing field where you can plant. This field can either be a front yard, backyard, or your roof. These zombies will stop at nothing to get at you! They will even swim towards your house in your backyard pool, or jump over your plants. Each setting adds a new element to the game that makes you rethink your strategies and makes for quite the challenge. The plants that you have in your arsenal have unique abilities. From damaging an oncoming zombie, or turning him to fight for you, to providing you with the all important, life giving sun. In order to utilize your plants, you must have sun to grow them in the first place. Some plants don't cost as much sun, but others can cost a tremendous amount. It starts out rather easy and laid back, but once you get pulled further into this war by the hand of gaming addiction, the fight becomes more and more difficult. All of these aspects are rather easy to grasp for most players, so anyone can enjoy this wonderful game.

The Graphics wasn't spectacular, but casual and friendly appearance makes the game sort of cute but very simple. Most computers running Windows XP will surely be able to run this game. The sound is OK too. The ambient music is kinda cool.

If you havent tried it yet well you should get your copy now at http://www.popcap.com/games/pvz. You can download a free trial but i suggest you buy you own copy.

Start planting.

Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor

Tales of Valor is the third installment to Company of Heroes (CoH) series. The game has 3 campaigns, and all the maps and factions of the CoH and CoH: Opposing Fronts. Even though its a new release game, its like an expansion pack of the old game.

Set in World War II, based on real events, the story is divided in three different stories about certain individuals and battles in the war, and focused on 3 major events in which the Tales of Valor of each individuals to booast moral of others and help win the war.

Tales of Valor includes new units, additional maps and further multiplayer modes, such as Stonewall, where the player commands a small number of troops against waves of increasingly difficult enemies, and a feature called "direct-fire", a mode in which you point and click where you want a specific unit to fire

The graphics, while still the same as the first Company of Heroes with slight improvements in cut scenes, are still good and provide enough eye-candy for those who want good gameplay and good graphics altogether. With that said, one should have a fairly good computer to be able to play this game smoothly at higher settings, especially on larger maps with more A.I. controlled armies. The sounds in the Company of Heroes games are nicely done and have been updated, and fit in nicely with the World War II setting. Explosions, gun fire, etc.

Overall, Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor is a great game.

NBA Finals Preview: Lakers in Five

US President Barack Obama picks the Lakers to win in 6 games, some 60% of NBA fans pick the lakers to win it all, mostly game 6 or game 7. But I say the Lakeshow in 5 for the following reasons.

1. Kobe Bryant
-Kobe will score on any Magic defender one on one, Courtney Lee, Mickael Pietrus and Hedo Turkoglu you name it. If doubled, Kobe will punish them playing 4 on 3. Best closer in the NBA.
-He is on a mission to win atleast a title without Shaq.
-To avenge the last years humiliating defeat to Boston.

2. Pau Gasol
-Put Gasol on the block, give him the ball and make strong cuts, if they don't double easy scores for Pau. Double team him, layups and open 3's by Kobe, Fish and Trevor.

3. Phil Jackson
-The Best Coach of all time. Do i need to explain more?

4. Experience
-The Lakers been there before, losing to the Celtics. They are here to play.

5. The Machine
- Just Kidding.

Dota Allstars continues to be strong

Dota Allstars, a world-famous custom map Defense of the Ancients – Allstars for Blizzard Entertainment’s real-time strategy game Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.
The objective of the scenario is to destroy the opponents’ “Ancient”. The two teams’ ancients are heavily guarded structures at opposing corners of the map. Players use powerful units known as heroes, and are assisted by allied heroes and AI-controlled fighters called “creeps”. As in RPGs, players level up their hero and use gold to buy equipments.
I have a video of one of my fav 5 heroes: The Axe, watch him in action.

Game of the Year - LEFT 4 DEAD!

The gaming community and the media awarded Left 4 Dead as the game of the Year.

Left 4 Dead is a cooperative first-person shooter video game. In campaign mode, the player takes control of one of the survivors; if four human players are not available, then the remaining survivors are AI-controlled bots. They play through the levels fighting off the infected—living humans who have been infected with a mutagenic, rabies-like virus to which the survivors are immune.

The game is about cooperation and team play. It is experienced through four campaigns, "No Mercy", an urban setting culminating in a hospital skyscraper. "Death Toll", a small-town and countryside setting. "Dead Air", an airport setting. And "Blood Harvest", a woodland and farm setting. In each of the game's four scenarios, you must battle your way to a series of safe houses that lead to a rescue point. You can have up to four players in a game, controlling each of the characters, but if you're short of humans, the AI can fill in and control the bots.

There are four playable human characters in the game. There's Zoey, a young woman. Bill, the grizzled veteran. Louis, the middle-class office worker. And Francis, the biker. Armed with real and makeshift weapons, these survivors must battle their way to safety.
